What to pack for Napa Valley in September

September is harvest season in Napa Valley, and the busiest, most exciting time of year in wine country. The days are hot and sunny, often in the mid 80s or higher, but mornings start cool and foggy and evenings cool off quickly once the sun goes down.

So the list is built on smart-casual pieces with a light layer. Tasting rooms are relaxed but polished, and people dress well without dressing up. Mix in a darker color or a print that forgives a spill, shoes you can walk through a vineyard in, and something nicer for dinner.
